Brief about Volga:

Volgaburmash, JSC was founded in 1948 and it is currently the largest and the most advanced Russian manufacturer of roller cone bits and PDC bits. Today, Volgaburmash manufactures more than 1,000 of conventional types and sizes of roller cone bits for oil and gas industry ranging from 2 15/16” to 26”, more than 80 types and sizes of mining rock bits ranging from 5 1/8” to 15 ½”, more than 350 PDC bit designs ranging from 3 ¼” to 17 ½”, as well as core heads, centralizers and calibrators.

Volgaburmash has a skilled product and process design staff that further improves its products. During the company’s 60-year history, its engineers have patented about 300 inventions related to drill bit design and production; more than 1.5 thousand innovations have been implemented into the process. New bits are designed using 3D software systems such as Siemens NX, used by General Motors, Daimler AG, Volkswagen AG and other world’s largest companies. These programs provide 3D designing enabling us to produce bit parts with maximum precision; it allows mastering any bit design on customer request in a short time. The use of modern programs allows to see on-screen bit dynamics, body and cone rotation as well as to verify specified bit parameters. At Volgaburmash we have ongoing development programs to improve our design and production capabilities. These capabilities have been supplemented with modern equipment purchased from leading domestic and foreign companies.
